Pilates is a system of exercises created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. It is comprised of over 700 exercises design to simultaneously improve strength and flexibility of the body while focusing on core control. Each exercise focuses on working the deepest abdominal muscles first and work the rest of the body through this core connection. Pilates can be adapted to anyone regardless of age or activity level.
